Worship With Your Loved One on the Pando App

My Favorite "God Behind Bars" Prison Ministries

Something I miss about the free world is worshipping God with my family and friends at church each week. That may sound crazy coming from an inmate, but I was raised in church and vividly remember many of my childhood Sunday mornings being rushed out of the house by my parents to make sure we were on time for church. God Behind Bars and the Pando app have created opportunities for incarcerated people to worship God with our families even while serving time. Here are a few of my personal favorite ministries on Pando and why.

Podcasts on Pando with God Behind Bars

1. Forgiven Felons with Jay Dan Jay Dan is a success story. After serving prison time he has dedicated his life to serving in prison ministry. With authenticity and a contagious sense humor, Gumm conducts powerful interviews, facilitates family shout out Zoom calls, and exemplifies what a man of God looks like today. 2. Worthy People with Cody and Julia Cody is rock star. With his super laid back personality, his Jesus centered teachings, and his obvious love for those serving time, I cannot recommend Worthy People enough. Sharing Christian movies, new resources, interviews, and music videos, Worthy People should not be missed. 3. Real Vida TV with Jeremy, Eve, Chris, Sam, Carl, and Andy After watching a few episodes of Real Vida you can't help but feel like family. With engaging conversation, practical Biblical teaching, and inside jokes about "chanclas," Real Vida consistently encourages, edifies, and speaks truth in love...just as family should. Bonus: This Is Real with Juan Martinez

Churches on Pando with God Behind Bars

1. The Altar Fellowship, Johnson City, TN, Pastor Mattie Montgomery Every week I worship my butt off in my cell with The Altar Fellowship. The passion, sincerity, and adoration poured out by those leading this Church is different from anything I've seen before. After worship, Pastor Mattie brings anointed and applicable teaching from God's Word. I cannot recommend this Church enough. 2. Southeast Christian Church, Louisville, KY, Pastor Kyle Idleman Idleman happens to be one of my favorite Christian authors on top of being an outstanding teacher. SE Christian is a massive Church community but manages to maintain relational connectivity. I love the worship at SE Christian and, I cherish the Word. 3. Social Dallas, Dallas, TX, Pastors Robert and Taylor Madu With vibrant love, and engaging preaching, Robert Madu pulls me in. Every sermon feels like it was meant specifically for me. This growing Church family is real, is fun, and is making an impact in Dallas, but also in the lives of those who are incarcerated. Bonus Church: Embrace Church, Sioux Falls, SD, Pastor Adam Weber (also: The Conversation with Adam Weber) While there are many other outstanding ministries on the Pando app, these are a few of my absolute favorites, and my hope is that you and your loved one will find one to watch together every week and worship God side by side, even while apart. Declare today: I Choose Hope!
